In Transit

In the Mean Time, In Between Time

There are advantages to running errands in a city like New York. You are always within steps from iconic landmarks. Since living in NYC, I’ve transitioned from the dslr to mirrorless systems. Gone are the days that that heavy camera would feel like a decision to be made when leaving the house. Now it’s more of a habit than a choice.

When I want a lower profile camera I choose my Fujifilm X100T. It’s a capable rangefinder style camera with a fixed 35mm equivalent field of view. There are so many advantages to this camera that I’ve come to experience while shooting on the streets of NYC.

On this day of errands I didn’t know if I was going to be able to squeeze out any time for shooting. In transit with a few minutes to kill before an appointment I pulled out my camera and made the best of the available time. These small sessions are the repetitions that build equity into the photographer I want to become.
